Bio
Todd studied at Luther College and Eastern Michigan University, earning his BA in art, and his MFA in ceramics respectively. His work has been shown throughout the United States, including solo shows at The Clay Studio, in Philadelphia and Pewabic Pottery in Detroit. Todd was named the 2025 East Tennessee Art Educator of the Year by the Tennessee Art Education Association. In 2024, Todd served the Tennessee State Board of Education in reviewing and revising the State Fine Arts Standards. In 2018, Todd was awarded the Golden Educators Residency Finalist, Golden Colors Award of $1,000 as one of twelve nationally recognized for excellence as both an educator and studio artist. Todd has also been the recipient of several grants. Most recently, operating under a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts as overseen by the National Core Arts Standards group, he wrote and piloted a lesson plan utilizing culturally responsive teaching through student-centered instruction. He has also been awarded the Fulbright Memorial Fund Scholarship for travel in Japan, a Lincoln Center Education grant for Teaching Artist Training, and two National Endowment for the Arts awards for study at Anderson Ranch Arts Center and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
